Times Herald sports writer Matt Schoch sits down with Port Huron Pirates Coach Brian Hug and lineman Wael Jarbou as the team prepares for Friday’s game against the Marion (Ohio) Mayhem at McMorran Arena. Jarbou, a native Iraqi, was in his home country during the first Persian Gulf War, and describes life in the country at that time. Jarbou also discusses worrying about some of his family members who still live there during the current turmoil in the Middle East. On a lighter note, he also discusses how he got started in football, and what he thinks of the team’s chances of continuing their impressive rate of success. Hug discusses the Mayhem, and a couple of new additions the Pirates have made to the roster over the bye week.
